Born at Skene, Aberdeenshire. Studied at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen under Leo Clegg and Richard Robertson. Awarded a Post-Diploma in Sculpture.
Lives in Aberdeenshire and paints in Scotland, Spain and Portugal, working in watercolour, gouache and oil. Recently returned to sculpture, producing poetry for the garden in sandstone.
Colours are tonal, creating the mood of the landscape or weather. Working outdoors, in all weathers, to ensure a directness to the subject which results in an individual painterly style.
